A pool losing water is expensive and stressful. It can be evaporation (up to a quarter inch a day in summer is normal), or it can be a leak wasting hundreds of gallons a day and destroying plumbing. We use electronic leak detection, microphones, pressure tests, and dye, to pinpoint leaks without tearing up your deck.

What do homeowners ask about Leak Detection?
How do I know if my pool is leaking or just evaporating?
Bucket test. Fill a bucket with pool water and sit it on the first step. Mark both levels. After 24 to 48 hours, if the pool level dropped more than the bucket, you have a leak. If they match, it's evaporation.
Can you find leaks without digging up my deck?
Yes, almost always. Electronic detection locates leaks through the deck, so we only dig if we've confirmed where the leak is and repair requires access.
How much water loss is normal?
In San Diego summer heat, 1/4 inch a day from evaporation is normal. More than that, especially with heavy wind, we'd recommend a leak test.
